Long time no see!

I haven't updated much in recent times as I've been super busy with my university work, then realised that there's nothing stopping me from posting that too!

This is my current uni project, a book I'm writing and illustrating. A raccoon (currently unnamed) is my main character, at the moment I'm just trying to figure out a character design. So far most of my sketches are realistic to give me a feel for the raccoons correct anatomy and fur colouration and patternage. I could really do with seeing some raccoons in real life to get a better grasp of the animal, I'm hoping I'll be able to see some at my local zoo.

This is my latest finished peice that I drew for me and not any sort of project. I was watching Disney's Hercules when I started it. Hades is my favourite character in the film (and my favourite Disney villian), and Persephone's story has always fascinated me. So I decided to put the two together. I coloured her purple to compliment Hades' blue/grey colour scheme, and elements of her outfit (like the skulls) also match Hades. She's delicately picking seeds out of the pomegranate Hades tricks her into eating.

I must say I'm rather proud of how her outfit turned out, especially as it wasn't drawn with any planning, it just turned out that way. If I were the type of person to "cosplay" it would be a costume I could see myself making.
